Funded counselling

Talking with a professional counsellor, who understands the pressures of your rural life and work, can be a huge comfort and source of practical support.

Just having someone there to talk to when I needed it most created a safe space I didn't feel I had in the beginning and to know that I can contact YANA again if needs be certainly puts my mind at ease.

YANA is quick to arrange a course of counselling sessions if we feel it will give you the help you need to improve your mental health.

Can I get YANA-funded counselling?

To be eligible for YANA-funded counselling sessions, you need to be 18 years of age or older and involved in farming or other rural business in East Anglia.

The funding for counselling is not means-tested and is completely confidential.

How do I get YANA-funded counselling?

If you are eligible, and we feel that counselling would be beneficial, you can be offered a course of YANA-funded counselling sessions

  • after your conversation(s) with the YANA Helpline
  • Counselling can be offered Face to Face, Online or over the phone.

How many sessions can I have?

YANA can fund up to 12 sessions with a professionally qualified counsellor.

Counselling is not appropriate for everyone. You may find these YANA resources give you the help you need with how you are feeling.
